In response to Dr. Kwabena Duffuor’s decision to seek an injunction ahead of the upcoming May 13 presidential and parliamentary elections, Builsa South Constituency Member of Parliament Clement Apaak has declared that NDC delegates will penalise the aspirant for the party’s flag, Dr. Duffuor.

He believes that Dr. Kwabena Duffour’s activities will only make the devastating defeat that the delegates are poised to hand even worse. He declared in a tweet that “NDC delegates are furious and will punish Dr. Duffour harshly for what they perceive as a disrespect to the party and its upward movement. Many claim his decision to enjoin the vote on the 13th proves he is a sellout. The inevitable dismal defeat will only be made worse by this foolish move.

Dr. Kwabena Duffour has sought an interlocutory order to stop the NDC’s upcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries, which are only 4 days away.

The General Secretary of the NDC, the Director of the Elections Directorate, as well as rivals for the position of flagbearer John Dramani Mahama and Kojo Bonsu were all notably listed as respondents in the complaint.

The defendants must enter their presence within eight days of being served with the court documents, according to the writ.

The writ further stated that if the order was not followed, a judgement could be rendered without further notice and in their absence.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that the party’s scheduled parliamentary and presidential elections will proceed as scheduled.

He asserts that nothing will prevent the elections.

Additionally, he urged anyone with complaints to bring them up with the party leadership for resolution.
